When Christians Disagree

June 23, 2024 | Special Services

Our Christian experiences, and the traditions that we grow up in, shape our views in this world. Experiences differ from one Christian to the next. Reading and interpretation of scripture also differs from one Christian to the next. How can we navigate and cooperatively discuss conflicts when they arise? First, we must set aside our pride. We also must not have a “victim mentality”. Thirdly, we need to have confidence knowing what topics are vital to salvation (and hold an uncompromising position) and knowing what topics may be thoughtfully discussed. Fourthly, we are to be open to an opportunity to learn from others during a Christian discussion. Finally, we are to respectfully approach Christian conversations in The Spirit demonstrating the virtues of The Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
