Equally Lost
February 11, 2024 | RomansIn Romans Chapters 2 and 3 Paul writes to correct misconceptions about The Law for Jews and God's grace for Christians. Paul bluntly points out that to live under The Law of God is not to just hear it or read it, but to live it. In the same way, a Christian's faith in Jesus is not to simply believe that He existed, but to live as He lived. In other words, God's love and morality is to be written on our hearts. We need to realize that we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. We are all equal sinners in God's eyes and we all will be judged by God. There are no laws that we are able to keep or good deeds that we perform to save ourselves. Only one person has ever been able to keep God's Law. His name is Jesus. Jesus' perfect life covers our sinful life. God offers forgiveness and eternal life to those who have faith in Jesus. To have faith in Jesus is to keep our eyes fixed on Him and be in relationship with Him. We are to remember, with gratitude, that God has saved us from eternal separation from Him and then share this good news with others!
