On Easter Sunday we come before God to remember and to celebrate the empty tomb of Jesus. We remember His mighty acts of dying on the cross, being buried and resurrected back to new-life eternal. We celebrate that through faith in Jesus we are reconciled to God and assured of life forever with Him! We are assured that no matter how low our circumstances, God has a plan for us and all of creation. Praise be to God who is in charge of all things at all times! The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is not a theological proposition. Easter is a historical fact. The events of the first Easter over 2,000 years ago were witnessed by real people and recorded for all of history. We are comforted and assured by the faith of these witnesses, including a dying thief on a cross next to Jesus. Hanging next to Jesus, this dying man recognized his own sin and cried out to be remembered by Jesus when He returned home to His Kingdom. Pray that we all will recognize our sin, cry out to God for salvation and that we remember the resurrection of Jesus that assures us eternal life!
