Meeting Jesus in Scripture

In the Gospel of John 5:39-40, Jesus corrected the religious leaders of His day who, although they studied God's word, they were missing God. We are no different. Today we may study Bible theology for pride or for our self-help. We may step away from the Bible believing it's too difficult to understand. Culturally we may set aside parts of the Bible to better align with today's world.

We must remember that the Bible is God's word to us. It is God's invitation to encounter Him as the creator of the universe, experience the power of His Holy Spirit and to fall in love with His Son and to live in His Kingdom here and eternally.
